From News Center (Text by Qin Huizhe, Academic Affairs Department; Photo by Chen Chen, Publicity Department of the CPC LZPU Committee) On the morning of March 27, 2026, Lin Yu, Director of the Center for Vocational Education Development of the Ministry of Education, led a delegation to our university for research and guidance on the high-quality development of vocational education. Zhou Fenghua, Director of the Quality Monitoring and Guidance Division of the Center, and Huang Pu, Associate Researcher, accompanied the visit. Liu Zilin, Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, and Gan Jinming, President of our university, hosted the delegation.

After listening attentively to the introduction of our university, Lin Yu fully affirmed its positioning of "industrial foundation + ASEAN neighboring" and the achievements made in recent years. He pointed out that this research discussion and subsequent cooperation represent a strategic choice for "two-way empowerment." Through the base institution mechanism, the Center will gain in-depth insights into grassroots practices to support national-level vocational education decision-making and reform proposals. At the same time, it will integrate national resources to support the university in addressing the development challenges in the new phase of vocational undergraduate education. He emphasized that the reform and development of vocational education have entered a critical stage of quality improvement and upgrading. He expressed hope that the university would further study the development patterns of vocational education, continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, as well as university-enterprise cooperation, achieve new progress in high-quality development, and make greater contributions to serving local economic and social development and national strategies.

Liu Zilin, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to Lin Yu and his delegation and provided a comprehensive report on the university's development. He stated that rooted in Liuzhou's industrial foundation, the university has evolved through the National Demonstration Vocational Institution, High-quality Vocational Institution, and "National Top-notch Vocational Institutions and Programs Plan" construction phases, and has now developed into a vocational undergraduate university with "strong industrial characteristics and distinctive international features." Looking ahead to the next fifteen years, the university has established a development vision of becoming a "high-level, innovative vocational university that leads Western China, excels nationally, and holds significant influence in the ASEAN region." Currently, the university is accelerating the development of undergraduate programs to increase the proportion of undergraduate programs to over 70% during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, achieving a structural leap in its educational level. He introduced that the university adheres to the program construction philosophy of "restructuring + innovation," closely aligning with the "ten pillar industries" layout of Guangxi and Liuzhou. The university focuses on key areas of new productive forces, such as artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, and new materials, promoting the coordinated development of specialty offerings with technological and industrial transformations. In terms of internationalization, the university has achieved substantive cooperation with ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. The China-Indonesia vocational education cooperation project has become a demonstration case for the internationalization of national vocational education standards. The university will continue to strengthen its role in providing vocational education support for Chinese enterprises going global.

Following the meeting, Lin Yu and his delegation has a tour of the Guantang Campus. Accompanied by our team, the research group visited several training and practice facilities, including the Industrial Robot Training Center, Engineering Practice Center, Intelligent Manufacturing Empowerment Center, and Global Customer Experience Center.
