From News Center (Text by Qin Rina, Hu Muxian, Department of Development Planning and Quality Management; Photos by Hu Muxian, Department of Development Planning and Quality Management) Recently, the China Vocational Education Quality Report (2024) compiled and published by the China National Academy of Educational Sciences was officially released.LZPU has successfully been selected into four major Western China rankings — Top 10% in Higher Vocational Education Talent Cultivation, Social Service Contribution, International Cooperation, andIndustry and EducationIntegration, achieving a full sweep of all four lists.Since the rankings were first launched in 2021, LZPU has been listed for four consecutive years and has claimed a place on all four major rankings for the third time.Meanwhile, the cultural education initiative of "Craftsman Spirit · LZPU Culture" was selected as an excellent case under the theme Cultivating Hearts through Culture: Fostering a New Educational Ecosystem that Values Skills and Encourages Endeavor.

It is reported that since 2021, the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education has established and implemented the higher vocational education quality report system, and has released it to the whole society for 13 consecutive years to date. The reportsummarizes the innovative achievements in the reform and development of China's vocational education over the past year. From the four aspects of talent cultivation, social service contribution, international cooperation, and industry-education integration, it has selected the top 10% of higher vocational schools in the eastern, central, western, northeastern and other regions respectively. The report fully demonstrates the development concept, practical path and innovative achievements of China's vocational education, closely focuses on the era proposition of deepening the reform of the modern vocational education system. In analyzing the situation, grasping the trend and judging the tendency, it continuously promotes vocational education to enhance adaptability, improve attractiveness and achieve high-quality development, constantly expanding new space, building new advantages and showing new achievements.

Being selected into the four major rankings is not only a full affirmation of our university's long-term efforts in leveraging local regional industrial advantages, deepening the integration of industry and education, strengthening connotation development, and serving regional economic growth, but also a high recognition of our pioneering and innovative endeavors in the reform and development of vocational education in the new era. The university has always taken the effectiveness of fostering virtue and nurturing talent as the fundamental criterion for evaluating all its work. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "rooted in industrial excellence to nurture master craftsmen," we have deeply embedded industrial genes, focused on pillar industries such as automobiles and machinery in Guangxi and Liuzhou, and integrated the spirit of craftsmanship throughout the entire talent cultivation process. Through exploration, we have developed the "Five Craftsmen Co-cultivation" model — "Forging the Craftsman Spirit, Refining the Craftsman Skills, Cultivating the Craftsman Character, Integrating the Craftsman Wisdom, and Practicing the Craftsman Way" — an educational approach dedicated to nurturing industrial craftsmen. Our goal is to cultivate talents of the new era who excel in both moral integrity and professional competence.

On this basis, the university continues to deepen the integration of industry and education, optimize internal governance, closely focus on the main line of the "Top-notch Vocational Institutions and Programs Plan" construction, further promote the reform of education and teaching, constantly improve the key school-running capabilities, show new responsibilities in serving the high-quality development of regional economy and society, and contribute more to the construction of an educational power.
