From News Center (Text by Zhang Shangmei, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Photo by Pan Hanchang, Huang Bingzhen, and Meng Mianhan, Convergence Media Center) "We also reached out to vocational colleges in Guangdong, but none of them have enough Thai students. LZPU's industry-education integration program in Thailand is the best partner I could find!" On the morning of October 20, at the opening ceremony of the Thai tailored class jointly organized by Guangdong Ellington Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ellington") and LZPU, Ellington's Human Resources Manager Ms. Ou Dongting praised LZPU's outstanding ability to integrate resources in support of Chinese enterprises operating in Thailand.
Mr. Siwawut Sangsawasdi, Director of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, Ms. Ou Dongting, Human Resources Manager of Ellington, Mr. Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of LZPU, as well as relevant leaders from the International Exchange Department and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering attended the event. A total of 53 Thai students gathered in the lecture hall of the School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry to participate in the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Siwawut Sangsawasdi, on behalf of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "Vocational Education Commission"), spoke highly of LZPU's achievements in industry-education integration, and expressed the strong support of the Thai Vocational Education Commission for the program. Qiu Fuming reflected on LZPU's involvement in serving the Chinese-funded printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing industry in Thailand. In 2024, through tailored class programs for Shennan Circuits Co., Ltd. (SCC) and Zhuhai Founder Technology High Density Electronic Co., Ltd., LZPU nurtured 162 Chinese and Thai students. He expressed gratitude to Ellington for its trust and recognition, which has further bolstered the university's influence among Chinese-funded PCB manufacturing enterprises in Thailand.
To support the establishment of Ellington's factory in Thailand and address the company's recruitment challenges, LZPU precisely aligned with enterprise needs and swiftly launched a university-enterprise tailored class program. Relying on the China-Thailand "Language + Vocational Skills" Training Center authorized by the Thai Vocational Education Commission, LZPU integrated resources from four Thai institutions to complete the student recruitment for Ellington's inaugural tailored class.
Students of the tailored class will continue to follow the classic training model of "Chinese language and skills enhancement + enterprise internship" developed by LZPU to address the urgent short-term needs of enterprises. Thai students will undergo two months of intensive Chinese language and vocational skills training at LZPU, followed by an internship at Ellington China headquarter. Through this two-phase collaboration between the university and the enterprise, and by integrating theory with practice, we aim to cultivate highly skilled talents who are proficient in Chinese and familiar with Ellington, ensuring a smooth start-up for Ellington's branch in Thailand.
In recent years, LZPU has intensified its efforts in ASEAN, precisely meeting the diverse and evolving needs of enterprises of varying types and sizes throughout their entire development cycle. By integrating training with education and offering both short-term and long-term solutions, we provide customized service packages for Chinese enterprises, which are favored by these enterprises. Many companies get in touch with us proactively through online searches. After onsite inspections and in-depth discussions, they choose to join our cooperation network, regarding LZPU as "the preferred partner for international educational collaboration". The Secretary-General of the Thai Vocational Education Commission highly praised the effectiveness of LZPU's integration of industry and education, awarded LZPU the title of "Excellent Partner", and authorized LZPU to establish the China-Thailand "Language + Vocational Skills" Training Center. LZPU has become one of only two Chinese partner institutions officially recognized by the Thai Vocational Education Commission. Going forward, LZPU will actively explore the establishment of an international industry community for the specialized sector of PCB manufacturing, fully leverage the resource aggregation capabilities of the China-Thailand "Language + Vocational Skills" Training Center, and address the shortage of skilled talents in Thailand's manufacturing sector and the recruitment challenges faced by Chinese enterprises, providing strong support for the development of Chinese enterprises.
